Walt Disney World Resort | All Star Music | Review

When it comes to my family trips, we tend to be stuck with moderate resort options due to our family size of five. Fortunately, my fiance and I got a trip for two this past February and took that opportunity to try out a value resort. Due to our shared love in music and the knowledge that our kids probably wouldn't be impressed with this resort, we chose All Star Music Resort.

Now, I'm going to be a little honest here. I went into this value resort plan with a good amount of hesitation. I hadn't realized, I had become a moderate resort snob. Those hesitations were in part confirmed and in part completely incorrect. We stayed in the Jazz Inn area of the resort which put us between two separate pools and very close to the Melody Hall which is All Star Music's dining, check in and arcade area. The location made navigating the resort very easy and the walk to transportation manageable.

We got a first floor room at the Jazz Inn buildings and I haven't yet found any overwhelming complaints with the room itself. Yes, it is in need of updates but it's perfect for a room to sleep and cool off for a few minutes between events or parks. One positive to the rooms lack of updates its its carpet. With a lot of the updated rooms comes hard surfaced floors and can add to the noise levels between rooms. I can't say I heard a naybour a single time from within our room. This was a large plus. Especially due to the All Star resorts ability to fill up with cheer-leading or band competition guests.

The Melody Hall was about a five minute walk from our room and it's food court was satisfying. the staff really made it special for us due to comping a meal after our Disney engagement but even past that most staff made it a point to remember my name and give some great insight to the meals to get while dining there. I have to say, the roasted chicken and potatoes was very good and one plate was more than enough to split between the two of us. We did not get a chance to try Maestro Mickey's, All Star Music's fine dining option but it smelt great in passing and always seemed to be busy.

My only complaint and I've heard this from others in regards to value resorts is it's transportation system. Each resort has one bus stop at the check in area and in the morning it proves to be very daunting to get on the first bus or two. Again, we have been very spoiled with the transportation of the moderate resorts. Offering multiple bus stops and in some resorts a dedicated in resort shuttle. The use of the Mini-van or other ride-share services may be an idea to explore if you have reservations you can't miss or be late to.

All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and will most likely use a value resort for any other adult trips. The pricing proved to be a huge help in our plans and really the room was great for what it's used for and the decoration of the resort was a lot of fun. Keep in mind. While staying at any of the All Star Resorts, each resort is next to each other so you can explore multiple walking paths and dining areas.
